Video Tutorial - Sneak Peek New Release from Craftin' Desert Divas

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a wonderful week and have something fun or crafty planned for the weekend :)  I'm so excited to be sharing another card for Craftin' Desert Divas featuring a brand new soon to be released stamp set called Coffee Wizards!  How adorable is this stamp set!  All of this week's new releases will be available today at 3:00 p.m. EST over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  I did a video tutorial for today's card so here it is:

And here are some photographs:

I first cut out a rectangle using the fancy frames die set from Craftin' Desert Divas.  I then stamped all the images with Hero Arts Black Dye Ink.  I then colored the images with my Zig markers and a water brush.  I used Black, Violet, Yellow, Brown, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Light Blue, Light Gray and Light Pink.  I then masked off the images and did some distress ink blending with my Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink.  I then adhered some sequins (the purple ones are from a new pack available from Craftin' Desert Divas with this new release) and the adhered the panel to a standard notecard. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today.  Thanks so much as always for stopping by.  I'll be back tomorrow with another video! :)

Video Tutorial - Sneak Peek: New Release from Craftin' Desert Divas

Hi everyone!  I hope your week is going well.  I have a fun card to share with you today.  I am honored and thrilled to share with you that I am a new member on the Craftin' Desert Divas design team.  I am sharing a video tutorial today on a new card I made using the brand new soon to be released Monster Carnival stamp set.  This set was so fun.  The card I made is super simple and would easily have fit into one video . . . unfortunately, I was having some cameral problems and had to split it into two videos.  Here's Part One:

And Part Two:

And here are some pictures:

I stamped the adorable images with my Hero Arts Dye black ink and then colored them with my Zig markers.  For the monster, I used Oragne and LIght Pink and for the cotton candy stand, I used Light Pink, Light Blue, Orange, Light Brown, and Deep Brown.  I created my distress oxide background using Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade distress inks.  I used Nuvo Drops to create the enamel looking dots.  What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today.  I hope you enjoy the videos.  Thanks so much as always for stopping by.

Video Tutorial: Watercolor Large Peony Stamp from The Ton with Zig Markers

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a wonderful week.  I have a new video tutorial to share with you today showing how I colored this gorgeous peony flower from The Ton Stamps with my Zig markers.  I also show how I created the distress inked background.  Here's the video:

I first embossed the flower and leaves onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Wow Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder.  I then used Pink, Light Pink, and Olive Green Zig Markers and a water brush to color the flower and leaves.  I then used the coordinating dies to cut the flower and leaves out.  To create the distress background, I used Spun Sugar distress ink and Work Lipstick distress oxide ink and some gold flecks of paint from the Starry Colors Gansai Tambi pearl paint set.  Here are some pictures:

I hope you enjoy the card and the video.  Thanks so much as always for stopping by.  I'll see you in the next video.

Hugs, Christine

Video Tutorial - Emboss Resist and Double Embossing Techniques

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your week.  I have a super simple card to share with you today and I did a video tutorial on how I created this card using two techniques: emboss resist and what I call "double embossing."  Here is a link to my video:

And here are some pictures:

The background stamp is the Flora Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp.  I embossed that with white embossing powder, then sponged Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick ink over the image for the emboss resist technique.  The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled's So Lucky stamp set.  I first embossed it with white embossing powder (except for the black, that one I first embossed clear), then embossed it with Taffeta Pink Wow embossing powder.  I added some sequins, and there you have a super simple, but fun and sparkly card.  What do you think?

Well, I hope you enjoyed this simple technique for today.  Thanks so much as always for stopping by.  Have a fabulous day!
